I'm just going to do this now, so I can get it out of the way and anyone who actually cares is on track. ;D

90 days until Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull! Today's trivia: Just in case you hadn't figured it all out, the beginning of Last Crusade explains some of Indy's quirks; why he's afraid of snakes, why he has a whip, where he got the hat, and where he got the scar on his chin (which is actually from when Ford was in a car crash).

That feels cheap. Does anyone else think that feels cheap? I have a feeling I'll add something else with my later post.

Nah, not really cheap, but that's fairly common knowledge.

How's about some trivia about certain actors (particularly one with a famous moustache) who were considered but not cast for the part?

Indy's not the only Ford character to have his scar explained. Han Solo got his in a knife fight in one of the books. I can't remember the title, but it was by the late Brian Daley.

Oh, Star Wars. I try to keep my distance from the Expanded Universe, it gets messy.

Yeah, I guess it does. For example, the new novel Death Star, from what I've heard, devotes its first two chapters to untangling the many conflicting histories of the titular superweapon's construction. I haven't been able to keep up with the EU recently, but I used to have most of it sorted out.
