Meh, it shouldn't be. It can be dangerous because we're moving fast (200 bpm is average for "fast" these days), but we still march when it's rained, with no problem. It can be more of a problem on grass fields, but no one really marches on those much anymore. DCI is almost all some kind of artificial turf. They outlawed water on the field after Magic's 200(3/4?) show, which was Pirates, which was amazing. And it wasn't much water at all. What they're talking about now is allowing water for the use of front ensemble for musical purposes.
What I'm pissed about is the electronic instruments rule, because now they can use guitars and synths and all that crap including electronic woodwind instruments. Also, they're allowed to mike "brass ensembles" which is a bunch of BULLSHIT because if you can't play loud enough to be heard you don't deserve to be on the field. I don't care if Phantom or Cadets picked you because you can play Flight of the Bumblebee like you wrote it, if you can't project, you don't belong on the fucking field.
I hate that man, seriously. He's turning drum corps into marching band.
