Poor creatures
Jul. 4th, 2005 10:19 pmSo, here I was at the laptop, working to catch up to everything I missed, when, from the dining room, I hear little squeaks over the bangs of the neighbors' fireworks. I thought: "Cat toy? No, too irregular, and I don't think we have any. It sounds like... the mice from those Catz games! Woah, we came home to two dead baby mice yesterday and two more earlier this year, I bet it's another poor baby mouse!"
Sure enough, Spatz was playin' with him. Trapping him, holding him in his mouth. Poor little mousey. I couldn't stand by and let them kill it! (They already have food and people and entertainment! *tear at heartstrings*)
So... I picked an empty Go-gurt box out of the recycling box and let him run in it away from the cats. I took it outside to let it go, but then I ran back inside for my camera because I had to take a picture first. He was so tiny! (Meaning that likely we have a family of mice in our house... I hope they learn the cats will come after them!) Then I let him go. He seemed a bit chocked at first, but after I petted him, he jumped, then slowly moved away. I don't know if he was hurt and panicking every time I touched him, or if he was just kind of in a general panicky shock.
Poor thing, I can't stand to see things get killed...=^u.u^=
At least he seemed okay.
