Oh shit. Oh shit. Oh shit. Tropic Thunder was hilarious. I was really afraid that the reasons Lara's mom was concerned (she works with mentally retarded people and has been getting like 80 emails a day from organizations saying to boycott the movie or whatever) would be valid and it would ruin the movie. But NO OH MY GOD. The part that everyone was flipping out over wasn't even necessarily a comment on retardation-- especially when they showed Space Invaders with the kid in the credits, I think he is just supposed to be ugly/nerdy/awkward/fat. And that is most definitely not the undercurrent of the story, the movie is exactly what the advertising said it was.
