So alst night we played miamisburg. they beat us. badly. but anyways...COOKIE TIME! It was so much fun talking to Keeta again. We got started on homestar runner RIGHT AS THE PARENTS TOLD US WE HAD TO LEAVE! that sucked big time. But we still had fun making fun of eachother's bands. Like, in their band, someone can pull off the silver strip on their uniform and that means you've been "molested." So, of course, we had to show her Westy raping Franzie...LOL...but he wouldn't, because Mike ran away. But then we played Steal Mike's Gauntlets, and Miss Markham got really angry. Keeta was really happy that she found another band that knows what gauntlets are *holds up her white ones* yep. Anyway, Keeta said she was holding her hat one day and wearing her gauntlets on her head (admit it, band geeks! if you have gauntlets you've worn them like that!), and some other kid IN A BAND asked her if that was her hat. oh my god. pathetic. anyway...to the music: they had a middle school playing with them so they marched their show as post-game and we didn't get to see it. *sad face* At half time the directors wouldn't let us march Homage. We were so pissed! We worked ALL week and they didn't let us march it, just Cenotaph and Prelude. Not to mention I forgot to put my feet in second position (actually first, turned out toes) at W in prelude AGAIN...I swear I'll get it today at the compy...and during practice *groans* Anyway...so we were angry because Homage is like, the world's best song. Ever. So chris and sarah and the people who are allowed to take the last note of Homage up a whole frickin octave ( I admit it does sound good...I just don't see why Mr. Edgar is letting Mattie do it too when we definitely need him on the low d.) decided to take the end of Prelude up an octave and I'm like "no guys don't." but they did. AND IT SOUNDED LIKE FRICKIN CRAP! chris was all like "no, it's ok, i know it's in the chord" and I'm like "CHRIS YOUMORON JUST BECAUSE ITS IN THE CHORD DOESN'T MEAN IT SOUNDS GOOD IN THE STYLE OF MUSIC!" He is so self-centered sometimes, it pisses me off so much. He says he wants a solo in blue coats. I'm thinking yes, he might have the ability to play high notes and then I think lack of maturity, how about the quality of the high notes...
But anyway...so we got back to the stands after break and got dressed, and the directors are like "HOMAGE!" and we were all so excited and we rushed the whole thing but it was sweet even more. Then we went in front of the stands and played 4 or 5 songs, and we were all hyper just feeding off the energey of Homage and the crowd. So hopefully we sound relly good today.
