So yeah, Quantum of Solace? Even better the second time around. You can pay attention a lot more to the plot subtlety and the cinematics and stuff, and I have to say, the plot is very tightly and very well written, if you take the time to wrap your head around everything.
Such as the folks who have said that this one doesn't have enough puns or punchlines; I'd like to disagree. I think it has rather a lot, they're just not delivered with the normal smirk, which I think is the only "update". (Because to a point, Bond is almost playing a caricature of himself in some films, the lines are that bad--not that they're unappreciated or anything).
Similar to the "Strawberry Fields" thing--you have to really care to really care. Also I'm pretty sure the geologist's name was Slate.
I see what you did there.
But yeah, there are a lot of loose details on the plot that I think are hard to catch the first time around (or maybe that's my problem since I'm so meta-driven sometimes), and upon second viewing I think they did a great job with it and I can't wait to buy it on video. Also I'm pretty psyched that the balance of the theme song in the cut is a lot more in tune than the music video on the website.
Also, the new Watchmen trailer actually gives a clueless person an idea of what it's about more, and it looks intriguing. I'll probably go see it if someone wants to.
Also, Star Trek...? Looks really good. (I know, right?!)
...I need a good Bond icon.
