WGI regionals yesterday-won our division by 3 points! (Beating Centerville A!) We were in fifth in prelims (so we would have been in finals anyway) but the top four got knocked into the next division because their scores were so much higher (I guess). Also, Centerville would have beaten us, except they got 2 penalties (one for crossing the front blue line, and the other for being ONE SECOND short) so we beat them by .2... very cool. So the juniors -Danny, Pat, Nick and I- did retreat, and we stayed in our uniforms for over 4 hours. We ended up taking our jackets off and wearing them backwards to be dumb. (my idea!) And since they look gray and white with knee-high black boots (the fabric from knee to ankle is black) we sang the Imperial March and considered doing the spock hand at the beginning of our show to be dumb. They have shoulder pads and sip up the back, with these pants underneath that go all the way up to your lower chest with this completely unecessary suspenderish thing. Anyway, they look like drum major or futuristic military uniforms... but they look so much cooler for winter percussion than the pajamaish styles most groups wear. Anyway...I love the beginning of the third movement. It is definitely my favorite.

Did anyone know there are such things as sub contra bass saxophones and tubas? Crazy.
