Anyone else having the most bizarre-fucking-day-ever?! Today has been completely morbid and surreal. I literally (well, almost literally--my mental state, at least) feel like I am in fourth grade and the world is collapsing around me.

It started yesterday with a new hire to the civil department GIVING US A SUPPLY SHOPPING LIST ON OUR SYLLABUS. ~You need binders, and a folder, and a straightedge, and...~ And then today, taking psych 101 with a bunch of freshmen and one junior-or-senior who thinks he has all the answers, and then in geotech the professor LECTURED US ON NOT TEXTING WHILE DRIVING. HOW DO YOU THINK WE SURVIVED TWENTY YEARS AGO, WERE YOU EVEN ALIVE?! Yes, yes we were. In fact, I did not get an email until I was eleven nor a cell phone until I was thirteen or so, thankyouverymuch.

And Anna is in the hospital. She has a completely clotted artery in her brain. Not good. She is in surgery right now. What with Grandpa Joe last year and all the morbid feelings I keep having about Gma and Gpa (and it doesn't help that Gma's rather depressed about it all, either), and my normal level of morbidity... Yeah. Fuck this world.

ALSO, ONTDP seems to be going crazy today. "Fat wank", the news about Uganda's anti-homosexual law and its relationship with AMERICAN EVANGELICALS, a handful of crazy teabagger posts, and a hanged effigy of Obama in Jimmy Carter's old house in Georgia.

I'm sure there's more than I haven't gotten to, yet.

Yeah... I am a little worried. She is in good spirits but her mom is a wreck, and the medicine they tried didn't do anything. When I visited yesterday they had just found that out, so they hadn't decided what to do next.

At the same time I'm completely trying to distance myself from having a completely surreal day the other day, so... That's odd in itself.

Meh.


Also, apparently this crazy prof has a vendetta against cell phones. I think he mentioned not using cell phones literally (and I do mean literally) at least a dozen times in class today. wtffffffffffffff.

Ohhhhh, well, our students at Job A are nitwits re: cell phones, it's such an alien concept to them NOT to use a phone in class that they probably could stand to be told about it that many times! Maybe his last class was a bunch o' Philistines or something.
