More Pirates II posting! Once again, spoiler warning, don't click unless you've seen the movie or are WILLING to have it RUINED for you.
OK, just to clear some things up. I DID see the entire movie, clip after the credits included. (I remembered there was one after the first movie and convinced everyone to stay. Not that it was difficult but I had to pee like a racehorse. Stupid 96 oz. Mello Yello.)
On to random wonderings!
1) Why was Norrington ruined, and why did he blame Jack? Obviously, he understood that Elizabeth loved Will in the first one and that he loved her back, and that it was the only way she would be truly happy. And I can't see him being ruined over that love, since he was willing to trade it for his nobility back.
Anyway, he looks better as a pasty Brit, rather than a drunkard. Like I said, Peirce Brosnan lookalike= distracting and annoying.
2) Where is Anamaria? I mean seriously, did Jack get her a ship or something? Can't see that happening. I don't think she died, she just... disappeared.
3) Why didn't something happen to Davy Jones when Jack put his heart in the bottle of earth? I mean since he could only go on land once every 10 years or so. I guess it would make sense if that rule excluded his heart, but then... what was the point of a bottle full of dirt? Seriously, either way I'm just confused.
4) What's up with the compass pointing at Jack when Elizabeth plunks down in the sand? I mean... just... wtf. Obviously when Jack uses it and it points "at Elizabeth" it's pointing to his ship. HEY, now you Elizabeth/Jack shippers, back off. First, it's a Disney movie. Will and Elizabeth will end up together. SECONDLY, The Black Pearl is Jack's true love, IMO. Many sailors treated the sea or their boat as their female counterpart (referred to as "she" much?) and HULLO, he gave his ETERNAL SOUL just to have 10 more years with "her." (It didn't really work out to 10 but please, work with me here.)
5) Sorry, but does Jack/Elizabeth disturb anyone else? I'm a Canon Fan for any fandom and that just seemed awkward and WRONG.
6) So Will was supposed to be the "spitting image" or Bootstrap, right? I mean, yeah, it's been 13 years, but Bootstrap was undead, and is now... not...gonna die... and... Will doesn't look like him in the least. (Although my dad reminded me of a certain SNL skit. Pirate convention: Peter Skaaaarrrrrrrsgaaarrrrrrrd!)
7) So it's really ticking me off that everyone thinks that Jack is dead. May I say
FIRST POINT: Main character
SECOND POINT: Disney movie
THIRD POINT: Sequel, honestly, I thought it was common knowledge by now. Everyone is so pissed off about the cliffhanger ending but, um, it's not like that's the end! Ferchrissakes.
and FOURTH POINT: Slashing out of a Kraaken (however unlikely and unplausible, Jack will pull it off simply with his Jackishness) would be a nice entry including yet another animal "suplosion". Although the first one is STILL so the best.
Allright, I think that's everything for now. Bedtime for me, as I have work and Gold Award workness tomorrow. Hopefully soon I will convince my parents to take me to the movie again. OOH, and I GET PAID tomorrow! Huzzah!
