Ok, so it was bothering me all day and I finally decided what wasn't quite right about the movie. Did anyone else think that Jack seemed too... evil? Or bad? Anyway, just my thoughts.

Also, the things that the fangirls writing slashfic and badfic will use terribly:
1) Jack tied to pole by cannibals.
2) Will whipped by his own father.
3) Norrington drunk, ruined, and willing to trade love for success.
... there was at least one more thing. But, you know, it doesn't even matter.

See, thing is, I like writing fanfic. It's how I see the characters when they're not "in" the canon story. But I don't read fanfic anymore (except Indiana Jones because the fandom is mature; that is, until the next movie comes out *sigh*) because 1) of all the badfic and 2) because it confuses me from canon and how I see the characters. And I have enough problems just reading a book or following a movie.

Some questions I have about the story:
1) What's with the place where Jack got the key picture? Even if it's not important, I just want to know what was going on.
2) What happens to the dog?
3) What's with the candle-people in the swamp? Are they sould who find TiaDalma (sp?)? Is that how she found [OMG SPOILER STOP READING SPOILER SPOILER] Barbossa? Is he even alive?


OK, and about the ending. I know I'm more observant than a lot of people, I think that's my worry-wart-ness combined with my engineer-ness. Which is why the CGI of people falling bothers me; it doesn't look like GRAVITY. OR PHYSICS. In Xmen3 I learned that when Storm is spinning, they blue-screen recorded Halle Berry spinning on some setup at 90 miles an hour. And you know what? It looked damn good. I don't think they should use CGI for stunt stuff. Anyway, back to my point. So this is me:

The scene where they give TiaDalma the monkey: *monkey runs off* me: woah, those are boots.

...piratey boots! (This was probably the costumer in me since I have been crazily studying pirate costumes and looked at caboot's stie for awhile. Those are the guys that made the boots for the movie.)

Me when she's talking at the end, and I don't even know what she said: the pirate that I saw earlier! OMG BARBOSSA

10 seconds later, everyone else in the theatre: *GASP! COUGH! LAUGH! GASP AGAIN!*

Like, seriously, me FTW. I'm obviously so proud of myself. =^n.n^= Sorry for all the ranting, but, DUDE-- I'm obsessed!

OMG the dog? You didn't stay through the ending credits? Cuz afterwards there was definitely a short scene that shows what happened to the dog. Pretty funny. I won't tell you what, but if you go again stay after the credits and your question will be answered.
And yes, I thought Jack seemed to be way evil in this movie. I was kinda like wtf?
I really wish I could have gone to the midnight showing with you guys! It looked like so much fun.

Yeah, we waited for it and saw it because I reminded everyone that, hullo, the monkey scene at the end of the first one? Anyway, I meant "what happens to the dog" as to...

Does he get eaten?! poor little puppy! I mean, they almost ate Jack... hopefully the puppy gets away. =^n.n^=

The film was much darker than the first, that's a given.

But Jack wasn't more evil, he was being Jack.

He will do whatever it takes to save himself.

He's a pirate.

He does 'good things' when they benefit him.
