Yesterday (homecoming dance!) was a lot of fun, surprisingly. I had a lot to fret about (due to a fight and a few comments from my mom), but from my perspective it was lovely. (BTW, we won the game friday too.)

Today was the Foreign Language Club picnic. Fun fun! And yummy food too. We didn't really play any games, but i talked with my friends and Kevin mauled the bull pinata (he beheaded it and got to keep the head as a trophy). Domer reminded me that my "new" nickname is Bucky (on friday one of the alumni told him that's what theu called my dad, so he started calling me that; he was sad when I told him that mr. heider did too, 2 years ago when i was in his class), which got me to thinking; people respond to a lot of different names. A lot. My current list: Diane, Diana, Didi (ack, don't ask), Bucky, Buchwalder, Teno, and Mercat. I'm sure there will be more to come, no doubt.

Another strange happening today:

another one of my "premonition-ideas" came true today. I don;t know if I've talked about this before, but sometimes i have these great ideas. In a few months, sometimes even years, they come to pass, and it's very, very odd. For example, this specific idea came to me 2 or 3 years ago. When I go up to communion for church, I have a very set ritual from everything I've learned, because i take it very seriously. For example, after you take the communion you are supposed to put it in your mouth, step to the side, pause, make the sign of the cross, and continue, never chewing the host. I follow that religiously, no pun intended. It is sad for me to see how quickly after my first communion my friends forgot these thinggs we were taught (about a month later, only a few still did them). My music teacher taught us that when you said, or sang Jesus' name you were also supposed to bow your head in respect, as you are supposed to when you walk in front of the tabernacle. (I admit, i am very ritualistic and old-fashioned about a lot of things.) So I began to bow my head when I paused to make the sign of the cross, as a sign of thanksgiving. Well, today the priest announced that the Pope has declared a Year of the Eucharist (starting today) a few days ago. He also wants people to bow when they say "Amen" when taking the eucharist, because both are signs of affirmation. It kind of freaked me out when he said this, but it also made me happy that I'm no longer the only one celebrating the little bow ritual. Odd, but most definitely interesting.
