Spoilers for Terminator Salvation, but the problem with you not wanting to click it is the same as my main critique: you already know the ending.

However, there are spoilers, so be warned.

This movie was not painful to watch. Each of the actors were great, and that little girl was adorable. The costumes I rather loved. The robots were good, the special effects were GREAT (especially in keeping with the other movies--or at least the first one), the sound mixing was positively spectacular (though also extremely deafening--it was basically a two-hour ear raping)... but the plot was too lacklustre. I mean, it was there, and they did try. Bale wasn't the focus as I thought he was going to be (I mean, since he was in every promotional still I saw), which, looking back on it, was good, because otherwise there would be no plot at all.

But the problem with a time travel movie where you've already seen the two main characters at a later point in their lives, but in the first movie? You already know how it's going to end. There's no tension. And even though they tried to introduce a subplot, which I think they crafted very well--and it's not to say the action wasn't intense, it was--it's just that you have no real emotional stake in it. =/

Also, Ahnold? Was not expecting that. Love that they threw it in. That makes two sequels this summer with throwback characters (well, and time loops)...

And speaking of Star Trek, it took me forever to place Kyle Reese. HE'S CHEKOV =) That kinda made my night. More interesting than Bale, I must say =/

Also, would totally have missed the "I'll be back" line if not for Johnny and Domer making asses of themselves with commentary. It's a good thing we went to the late showing, since you two TALK SO FUCKING LOUD

Might wanna learn2whisper kthx. But, yeah... for some reason that line never clicks as a Terminator line. Even though it's so obvious, I just always connect it to a bad music joke I read ages ago: "I'll be Bach".

Also, I'm wondering, are we allowed to be paranoid of the Air Force purchasing large technological industries now?
