Spoilers for Terminator Salvation, but the problem with you not wanting to click it is the same as my main critique: you already know the ending.

However, there are spoilers, so be warned.

[Error: unknown template qotd]Oh my god, the answers on this are so depressing. PEOPLE: IF IT IS ARTIFICIAL, IT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN.

I fear for the future of science sometimes...

Also, I never really understood how a computer could "wake up" or "rebel" against it's master/programmer/whatever. If you programmed it to do something, assuming your coding was correct, there should be no errors. A computer is only as stupid as its user. If we programmed something to simulate the human brain, sure it could have "independent" reactions; however those reactions are based on 1) a random number generator or 2) our best guess as to how emotions (which are based in experiences) work. And not all people work the same way. So it can be a combination of both 1 and 2.

So yeah, barring some alien-ghost-spiritual infestation of our electronic hardware (a la the Ghostbusters fridge?), I say nevah.

Who the hell writes this shit? "[A]n individual with its own feelings and rights" may just be one of the stupidest things I have ever seen written about technology. Thank you liberal arts majors for once again reminding me why it's good to be an engineer. (I'm only half-serious.)
