I got one, maybe two hours of sleep

I punched myself in the nose because of a damn poorly-designed conditioner bottle, and now I have a scratch across my nose and upper lip

I haven't been spelling things right all day

My cousin Kyle doesn't understand thermodynamics and shattered a glass bowl with boiling simple syrup everywhere pushing back dinner two hours

Dinner was delicious, bee tee dubs

Nobody cried for missing gramps (that I saw) (I think we're all tired of grandma's bullshit let's be honest) (we're all going to lose it Saturday)

Our cousin Chris showed up (the family "drunk" as it were-- he parties hard with no shame) and we all ended up making a post-dinner trek to Kroger for beer and cider and cups and pong balls

Kroger locked us out because they were closing in five minutes, I went back to the car and my sister and cousins snuck in the exit and beat a fair number of people through the line

I forgot to mention that my cousin was playing the CDs his Hitting-On-Him-Gay-Boss made for him but they cranked them up until I was deaf and they are all terrible dancers

Kyle owes me a game of Beer Hunter for driving them

I missed the James Bond marathon on SyFy and it occurred to me I've never seen a Timothy Dalton or George Lazenby one

But we found out Cato (Pink Panther) was in Goldfinger and that the character is also apparently in Inspector Gadget What I Can't Even

So we played beer pong on the porch and I think they got a fair number of the adults involved, apparently my sister got my grandma to swear to play a game next summer

Meanwhile I passed out in the basement for at least two hours and I still don't know what

So that was today

(I think this is the third time this year I've punched myself in the face)

I've been in a clean-uppy mood today, so I was going to go through my tabs, through my half-written posts, clean them up, tag them, and hit the fabulous "post" button... But I am falling asleep with my eyes open at the moment.

Lest you think I'm becoming a horrible LJ resident, I promise to pick up the pace some. Just... not tonight. *yawn*

Right, here is yet another reason I hate flipflops. So, I've been trying to get rid of my kind-of-obvious tan lines from last summer by wearing flipflops this week. Well, I am inept. I walk too fast to wear flipflops, I think. The yellow Nike ones I had were too big and I remember taking at least one good spill in them at Target because I tripped over the toe. And that's just what I did coming up the stairs here, too, today. Ripped up my knee really nicely, it was even swollen pretty noticeably about an hour ago, too. Remember when Suzie got hit with the flag and had that HUGE bump on her head that looked like an egg? Mine wasn't quite that big, but it was swollen just about as badly. I don't ever remember that happening when I was little (but it did remind me of the time I scraped my knee [falling up the stairs, again] when I was younger and was determined I wouldn't cry... it doesn't even seem like it would be something painful enough to make you cry, now, but it's always embarassing). It seems like every time I start to think "dang, I haven't had a scab in a very long time, I can't remember what that last one was from" I get to have a new one. I honestly can't remember where my last one was from--it was on my left elbow and my knee, and I remember picking at my elbow... in some class... but I can't remember which class (which I usually can, as a hint for myself) or where I did it. But I remember before that I had this scratch from Tippy on my left forearm which I picked at in Miss Downie's class, and before that my biggest scratch was probably on my left knee from hitting dad's bike going down to North Carolina and really gnashing it up good (just outside Lake White).

Hm, I seem to get a majority of my knee scars on my left knee. I wonder why that is? I remember being about six and falling off the back of the tandem right as we were about to pull into the driveway, and really having scratched up my knee and elbow. (Mom was so freaked out, but I don't remember anything, I guess because I had fallen asleep and just fell off?) But I do remember getting a dark green towel and sitting in back (when we still had the brown couch and the TV and everything in back... what did we have up front? the organ?) wrapped up in the towel drinking hot chocolate (even though it wasn't cold...?) and we ordered pizza. And I think we watched the Little Mermaid, but I could just be remembering that because when I was little I used to watch the Little Mermaid back there aaaaaall the time. Damn, I forgot how much I loved that little room before we redid it all. =/

Also, either everything smells terrible today or my nose decided I could breathe today. The path I take to classes smells like something too oniony (chips of some kind?) and my uke teacher's office smelled like gross old people potatoes. (What, you are asking, does that smell like? Like old people, but when they smell like rotten potatoes. Not the regular "old people" smell, I don't mind that at all.) YEUCH.

The last two nights I've slept on the couch so my roommate can study, and oddly enough I'm getting better, more solid sleep on the couch (meaning I'm not waking up every hour or so to turn over) than I do in my bed. I think it's the cushions and the slight angle they're at, plus having a smaller space with three walls (backboard, both armrests) to push against. I dunno, I like to have something to push up against at night because otherwise my muscles feel like they're stretching to be loose or something, so I get this "growing pain" ahce. (ACK, EVERYTHING SMELLS LIKE SMOKE ALL OF A SUDDEN GROSS GROSS) Plus, since I raised myself paranoically, I am one of those people who always prefers to be in a corner (or, if that's impossible, against a wall) so no one sneaks up on me or anything. Which, with sleeping on the couch, is actually very nice. The best part of it is is that this is the shittiest couch I've seen (looks like something they made in woodshop and added the cushions to), so if I want to I can replicate it very easily. Yaaaaay.

Hm, now... to nap, or to sit around and do nothing? Decisions, decisions.

Argh. Here it is 9:30 and my brain is sort-of stopping working. I can't for the life of me figure out what this standardized beam is I have to draw (is it even standard? it's just THERE) and scale factors and font sizes are just not computing right now. (Font sizes at scales are fucking HARD to make sense out of.)

And then I missed Mystery of the Blues because it was on at eight and not nine, and I am going to take a nap and a break from AutoCAD because even though I want to turn this in I cannot possibly process anymore right now.

=( Although I'm not particularly tired, per se... my muscles are sort of achy and my head feels thick (mentally, not mucously) and I'm a bit shaky (I think huge drop in blood sugar since I haven't had a dew in three hours) so I think I at least need a nap, but when I wake up from that it will be time to go to senior sendoff, and then hopefully I can finish this damn project that has so far taken me 18 hours and is still incomplete. FUUUUUCK IIIIIT.

(Though there is strangely something to be said for pulling an all-nighter to do AutoCAD--somehow, it's relaxing.)

AUGH. Fuck fuck fuck my computer. You just had to keep malfunctioning all semester, and fail over break, dincha?

Because now it is currently 6:36 AM and I am pulling an all-nighter to finish this damn AutoCAD project (though it's strangely relaxing and I am strangely awake for only four mountain dews). And I just am one-third/two-fifths/one-half -of-the-way-finished, depending on how you want to look at it.

Um, I have had so little sleep this week, but I'm not really feeling it. I don't know if that's a good thing...? Then again four Mountain Dews can't be that great for you. I think I'll go eat fourthmeal/breakfast soon. And then take a shower. I'm gross.

It looks like even though I planned on catching up on sleep I will end up watching YIJC on the History Channel at 9 anyhow. I hope it's a half-an-hour, but I don't know. I just know that it was posted well over on IndyGear because it's the Mystery of the Blues episode (for all you non-Indy-fans, that's the one that Ford was in).

Except fuck those woodwinds, who needs them? =D

Of course the time when I decide to do NaNoWriMo would be the time my computer decides that the hard drive is ready to fail. I'm hoping it's just a "Office 2007 sucks and fucked up everything" error, but that I don't lose any of my OneNote data that's pretending to be corrupted right now. Come back OneNote, I LUUURVE YOOU!

And also, Southwind just had to choose November 10th for the banquet ANYHOW, so now I will have to leave Phi Rho retreat early and if I can't (b/c it's initiation) I'll have to MISS IT. And also I have to finish all the ambigrams! Gah!

Plus the SW board wants t-shirt ideas ASAP. As in, today. Or tomorrow. So they can start fundraising. GAH.

Aaaaand it looks like my annual canker sore is back. Actually this is probably the first time it qualifies as "annual," but I got one last year in the winter, too. And this time the problem isn't citric acid, which causes even more of a problem because I'm not eating enough veggies.

OK, just so this post doesn't sound like I'm complaining about life but more like informing you all what's going on (which is what I intended but YAY STRESS) I also decided to forego searching for an internship with a construction company or something relative to my major, or hunting down a job with JPI Design or Cost of Wisconsin or Disney, which really ticks me off, but I just don't have time, and I'm exhausted, and I also feel it wouldn't be fair to my boss here who said that he hired me because I'm local so I could work summers, but since I want to march I can't, and this would be the only summer I could. So I am. Next summer I will not be in Florida, or California, or Wisconsin, but in Dayton, hopefully just working and destressing, and maybe getting some classes out of the way. And doing art, because I have soooo many projects on my to-do list right now.

Also I am totally pissed that I am so busy because I really can't celebrate Halloween. Two sort-of-fun parties this weekend but no party on the day of (TWO FUCKING TESTS ARGH) and no movies and I haven't had time to put up decorations, just put a Halloween Mix together. Which I haven't even listened to much and won't be able to use for a mini-party because there won't be one. I have, however, been wearing my silver skull ring that I got for Christmas last year (sort of a Day of the Dead style) and it is both very Pirate-y and Victorian and I plan to continue to wear it, no matter how much other people look at me weirdly. It's unique and I think it looks very distinguished because it is sterling silver and rather large. Hee.

The only good news as of late is that

1) November 4th we gain an hour! Hopefully of sleep and not of homework, but you know how that works out.

2) Indiana Jones IV principal photography wrapped up a couple of days ago! HOORAY! I really, really can't wait for Beowulf to come out... the trailer better fucking be on it.

Also, my steampunk outfits are slooooowly coming together, and I have several new resources and ideas for steampunk gadgetry, which makes me happy.
