Of course the time when I decide to do NaNoWriMo would be the time my computer decides that the hard drive is ready to fail. I'm hoping it's just a "Office 2007 sucks and fucked up everything" error, but that I don't lose any of my OneNote data that's pretending to be corrupted right now. Come back OneNote, I LUUURVE YOOU!

And also, Southwind just had to choose November 10th for the banquet ANYHOW, so now I will have to leave Phi Rho retreat early and if I can't (b/c it's initiation) I'll have to MISS IT. And also I have to finish all the ambigrams! Gah!

Plus the SW board wants t-shirt ideas ASAP. As in, today. Or tomorrow. So they can start fundraising. GAH.

Aaaaand it looks like my annual canker sore is back. Actually this is probably the first time it qualifies as "annual," but I got one last year in the winter, too. And this time the problem isn't citric acid, which causes even more of a problem because I'm not eating enough veggies.

OK, just so this post doesn't sound like I'm complaining about life but more like informing you all what's going on (which is what I intended but YAY STRESS) I also decided to forego searching for an internship with a construction company or something relative to my major, or hunting down a job with JPI Design or Cost of Wisconsin or Disney, which really ticks me off, but I just don't have time, and I'm exhausted, and I also feel it wouldn't be fair to my boss here who said that he hired me because I'm local so I could work summers, but since I want to march I can't, and this would be the only summer I could. So I am. Next summer I will not be in Florida, or California, or Wisconsin, but in Dayton, hopefully just working and destressing, and maybe getting some classes out of the way. And doing art, because I have soooo many projects on my to-do list right now.

Also I am totally pissed that I am so busy because I really can't celebrate Halloween. Two sort-of-fun parties this weekend but no party on the day of (TWO FUCKING TESTS ARGH) and no movies and I haven't had time to put up decorations, just put a Halloween Mix together. Which I haven't even listened to much and won't be able to use for a mini-party because there won't be one. I have, however, been wearing my silver skull ring that I got for Christmas last year (sort of a Day of the Dead style) and it is both very Pirate-y and Victorian and I plan to continue to wear it, no matter how much other people look at me weirdly. It's unique and I think it looks very distinguished because it is sterling silver and rather large. Hee.

The only good news as of late is that

1) November 4th we gain an hour! Hopefully of sleep and not of homework, but you know how that works out.

2) Indiana Jones IV principal photography wrapped up a couple of days ago! HOORAY! I really, really can't wait for Beowulf to come out... the trailer better fucking be on it.

Also, my steampunk outfits are slooooowly coming together, and I have several new resources and ideas for steampunk gadgetry, which makes me happy.

So, just read through some back entries. I have about a million "I'll post this soon!" posts. Come Christmas, or Hawaii (where I won't have band, or 12 hours of work a week, or tons of hard classes) I will actually get around to posting as many of those as I can. Some of them I have no idea what I was referring to, though. Also, the post I locked and talked about needing to curse but not liking to? FYI that changed this summer. One summer of drum corps gives you a very filthy mouth, especially when your rookie job is such related... ;) I still have that double-persona ability, and I keep it in check in the right places (99.99% of the time. Sometimes I slip, of course...), and... true to my blog... more on that later. ;)

So, yup! Finally changed my layout. The bright turquoise and green, while awesome, was kind of harsh on the eyes, and definitely attracted too much attention while trying to read stuff in class or whatever. (I mean... what?) It's also very appropriate to me being much more conscious of who I am, and that I am going to Hawaii. Hoo-rah!

[EDIT] One of my backposts is called "Phroyd" talking about psychoanalysis, where I was just being dumb and misspelling Freud more phonetically.

However. When I get my own lawn flamingos, I will name them Phydeaux and Phroyd in honor of Fuzzy (who was Phydeaux, before the vet didn't know how to pronounce it) and my dad (a testament to his weirdness that sometimes I feel like I inherited, but I suck at majorly).

Massive, massive, massive posting here folks. Just I've been super-surfing the last few days and have run across many things to say and simply haven't.

Sooo. [And if you've never seen Star Wars... yeah, spoiler warning, but like you care. And if you havent' seen it you should go away and never talk to me again until you've seen it ANYWAY.] =D Many Bothans died to bring us this information. )

Candice is a superhero, more geekery abounds (from me, of course). )

After you make frogs' legs, what do you do with the rest of the frog? )

Aaaaand, yeah, I think that's the longest, GEEKIEST entry I've ever written. Now I'm off to Southwind camp, back Sunday evening prolly.

Also, when I get back I will edit this to add all the tags as I do NOT have time right now, lol.

Also, warning, this entry was LONG. (Yeah, the warning comes at the end, like the QUV machine with the label under the flap which says "TURN OFF MACHINE BEFORE OPENING. DO NOT LOOK AT BLUE LIGHT," Because, you know, it's about one year's worth of UV in a week's time, and THAT my friends could really hurt your eyes. And your skin, I suppose, but just OW.

Okay, guys, I'm leaving for Breckenridge tomorrow morning. If you need me, you can call the cell, I'll have it with me. Or if you just wanna chat, that works, too. Because mostly I'll be absorbed in my magazines and books, and hopefully not too much skiing, lol. There will hopefully be a Christmas post, since I didn't get to do Halloween, and since there are coffee bars with internet in the area. Just have to convince my mom to take me, or whatnot. If not, there will be a post when I return on the 26th.

Anyway! Went to Southwind last weekend, and it was a lot better than Phantom's camp. Although, it was really empty (a lot of brass holes, and the guard doesn't start yet) and kind of felt immature, because I'm pretty sure that half or more than half of the people I talked to were younger than me. A 15 year old girl being the youngest, though she's marched one year of corps. But there were tons of guys who looked like they could be freshmen, sophomores in high school! Or they WERE! Who knows, but it still creeped me the hell out. But anyway, I pretty much have a spot there. I have the horn (so shiiinyyyy) here with me, and the paperwork, but I didn't officially get offered a contract, apparently? I don't know, I'm not really sure what that's all about. But I'm on third trumpet for now, though it kind of sucked because these kids were younger than me I'm assuming were only on second and whatnot because they have range and were at the earlier camp, because... I dunno, it was weird. At any rate. Apparently SW is getting new uniforms AND new hats (BOO to losing the sharkos, which, by the way, IS the BEST name EVER for a hat, and is extremely clever), so I really don't know about that. I just am hoping they don't look way gay. ALSO, I won't be allowed to take a cell phone on tour. FUUUUCK. I might still see if I can get that internet card for my computer through Verizon... that way I can still get internet a little. If not, I'm going to have to find someone to check my friends page and whatnot and print out updates or save the pages as hard files or something. I dunno.

Anyway, I still have to pack and whatnot.

I am feeling so apathetic right now. *sigh*
