So I've been sort of cleaning up/sorting old files and I came across old post material, whereupon I hypothesized that Robert Frost was secretly a Vogon. And more recently I put forth that Bruce Wayne is secretly Billy Joel.

And when I think about it, I go back to all the freakish doubles I know; Johnny, Jacob, Jingleheimerschmidt just kidding, my old physics prof that was Neil Sedaka's good twin, ET CETERA.

This is some crazy shit!

Apparently I am highly skilled at recognizing facial similarities but fuck all at remembering people's names, which, I believe, is because I know so many people and not only do I know them but I associate with them on a regular basis.

Anyforth.

I tried to find that old Robert Frost entry and HOLY SHIT, I think it is time to lock some of my old entries! The writing is rather appalling and AS OF TODAY (I have not gone to bed I still consider it the thirtieth, mind you!) I have written five full years' worth of livejournal entries.

Happy fifth LJ birthday, me! :D

I hinted so hard to my mom once about that last cake. I never got it. lol

At least I can say this, I am very in tune with my writing voice, now. =) Now to just find my sketching style... =/

Also I think it is time to clean out my old tags, for fuck's sake... and retag old entries.

So I've really been avoiding LJ. I've just been kind of overwhelmed with real-life stuff and I don't have the time nor the inclination to go through the millions of pages of communities I've been following. So, sorry if I miss something =/ If it's important, let me know, I promise I'm actually around. For example, today I've been making sure facebook doesn't explode my inbox.

Anyway, so I'm going to have an exciting weekend. I wore wonderfully bright things today (and my Indy QC shirt) and then went to El Toro with mom and dad and Laura. Laura convinced me to get a pina colada but it was not really to my interest. So, so far things aren't looking good for my drinking self. Champagne is a no, mudslides are a no, pina coladas are a no. Wine is meh but I'd rather drink milk and mountain dew and sparkling grape juice to be honest... =/ Yeah, like I said, I'm just not that interested.

ANYWAY but Stebs is coming down from Indiana tomorrow & we are going to dinner with the roomies & Laura & Sav, then doing something (undetermined yet) on Saturday and then PARTY to which I invited all of facebook because I was lazy (which is actually kind of awkward) and then Sunday is dinner with the whole fam fam. Delicious summer spaghetti and cooorrrrnnnn and brownies, yum.

So classes are looking okay though my grad-level tech elective might get cancelled because there are only five of us and the teacher didn't even show up to the first day. Art history I'm kind of pissed at because we're doing prehistory but all European, Mediterranean, and Mesopotamian. =/ Why no Asian, southern African, or American?! Or Australian... really, anything.

Anyway. Might be back more this weekend or hopefully next week. woo

Also actually wanted to go to the gym today. Which is a good sign for wanting to stay fit :D Now the problem is finding easy but filling lunches... Salads are good but not filling enough, considering yesterday I thought I wanted to puke.

You know what is exciting, though? Besides my friends Matt and Riley who are both trumpets at Troopers, I also found out that Fred Morris shares our birthday! And always my dad, as well. We are so cool beans like that :D

So following (sort of) a popular meme, I looked up my birthday (August 27) on wikipedia. Here's the cool stuff I learned:

+ I am exactly the same age (plus or minus a few hours) as Alexa Vega. I've never seen her in a movie or anything though, so, I really don't know what to think of her. She seems pretty cool and mature, though.

+ I share a birthday with Mother Teresa! How cool is that?!

+ My birthday is the Roman celebration of Volturnalia, the celebration of the god of fountains and water, Volturnus, a tribal river god later thought to be god of the Tiber, who also has another river named after him and a daughter who's a water goddess as well. Yay, this makes me so excited!

+ My birthday is a Roman Catholic Saints Day: Saint Monica of Hippo. Hah, this is all too wonderful. She was the mother of St. Augustine...cool.

+ Just a note, it's my dad's birthday, too. =^n.n^=

I made this post based on this post: http://community.livejournal.com/metaquotes/4936621.html

By the way, you should all join metaquotes, it's the best community EVER. (Someday I'll sneak up on you and metaquote you. Chances are it'll be David before anyone else, though, that is if he ever updates again.) =^n.n^=

I almost forgot some stuff. Tomorrow is Friday (a holiday for all you Pastafarians, www.venganza.org), and Twin Day for spirit week this week we're trying to get a HUGE group dressed as pirates. (OK, at least Pat and I are.) We also want to arrange aspaghetti dinner, and I need to make a FSM blonde "dreadlock" wig, since we're Pastafarians...haha.

SEPTEMBER 19th IS INTERATIONAL TALK LIKE A PIRATE DAY! YEAH! (A cool holiday whether or not you're Pastafarian.) ...I gotta get me a cool pirate costume.

Yup. Saturday I'm "19." The directors keep screwing up the date on the schedule and it's my birthday for the third week in a row. Rawk! Yup, I think that's all. =^n.n^=

Wow! I'm seventeen now... haha. Anyway... marched the Riverside Founder's Day Parade, that was not too bad. It rained some, our show runthrough was all right. Was going to go out with some friends, but it didn't work out. Was going to go to a party, but I just felt like staying at home. I watched Chicago, which is a freakin' GOOD movie. Talk about ironies... Anyway, we headed out to the Egyptian Festival for dinner and expected booths and stuff (and w00tness culture!) but it was just... a dinner. So we went to the Lebanese festival. YUM. Oh my goodness YUM. Mmmm... pine nuts.... and just mmmmm. And cool dancing! Beside that... I came home to watch Newsies, but now the Twilight Zone (a newer version) is on, and it is awesome! ...I'll watch Newsies afterward. Heh heh. =^n.n^= See people later.

Heh, I just saw that Levi's ad where the guy throws rocks at the windows until he finds the cleaner lady. I really like the song in it..."I must be Love," or whatever.

So, I am 17 TODAY at 6:47 PM! I thought I should add a few songs I've been singing lately, just for laughs:

"I am 16 going on 17..." and etc. I don't really like that song except I can sing that line for now!

Then there's Newsies, which, for once, I'll post an actual entire song. I love this musical now...
"So that's what they call a family
Mother, daughter, father, son
Guess that everything you heard about is true
So you ain't got any family
Well, who said you needed one?
Ain't ya glad nobody's waitin' up for you?

When I dream
On my own
I'm alone but I ain't lonely
For a dreamer night's the only time of day
When the city's finally sleepin'
All my thoughts begin to stray
And I'm on the train that's bound for Santa Fe
And I'm free
Like the wind
Like I'm gonna live forever
It's a feeling time can never take away
All I need's a few more dollars
And I'm outta here to stay
Dreams come true
Yes, they do
In Santa Fe

Where does it say you gotta live and die here?
Where does it say a guy can't catch a break?
Why should you only take what you're given?
Why should you spend your whole life livin'
Trapped where there ain't no future
Even at seventeen
Breakin' your back for someone else's sake
If the life don't seem to suit ya
How 'bout a change of scene?
Far from the lousy headlines
And the deadlines in between

Santa Fe
Are you there?
Do you swear you won't forget me?
If I found you would you let me come and stay?
I ain't gettin' any younger
And before my dyin' day
I want space
Not just air
Let 'em laugh in my face
I don't care
Save a place
I'll be there

So that's what they call a family
Ain't ya glad you ain't that way?
Ain't ya glad you got a dream called Santa Fe?"

Yup... Lara and Katy decorated my locker... *hugs* and Lara got me a mythical beasts coloring book and a Frank Lloyd Wright coloring book, and more sharpies! *hugs more* Those were the highlights of my day, along with the H.E.I.S.

Low? Definitely all the drama that stems from homecoming and other dances... I thought maybe it's be my year, but hoo-boy. Drama level is way too high for comfort.

Anyway...we'll see how this goes. =^n.n^= Oh, man, my throat is killing me. I sang as loudly as physically possible along to Newsies as I drove home from tonight's game, which, by the way, we beat Beaverditch 34 to 14, or soemthing dismal like that. We always have, we always will.

Well, after practice I meant to come home and actually work... but I got invited to Lara's 18th birthday party. So I made a necklace for her and got my butt over there. It was fun. We sat out there for a while, I got made fun of for beating people up when they're rude (haha!) and for the fact that I'm getting my hair cut... (Everybody wanted me to wear it down... ugh!) Aaaand there were a few lightsaber fights... Nick Wolodkiewicz did a nice flying kick into Ty! There was a nice quote from Lara: "The guys will be black, because we don't like them." In reference to white or black gamepiece for Encore... then there was the gifts, like KEVIN'S... what an idiot! He didn't even look at the book! Then we played our own version of balderdash, and I left. Don't forget, party Saturday at 3, bring a side dish or dessert! =^n.n^=
