I think my personal motto should "be badass, daily". I was kind of in a depressive funk yesterday, not really sure why. It was a bunch of little, unimportant dramas that I think just kind of banded together and unleashed a wave of upset. Meh, I'm pretty much over it today. I think the perfect timing of Not-Troll is partly to blame =)
So last Friday during our meetings I found out that my little, Sarah, is a sci-fi geek as well. I don't know if I posted this already (I think I may have), but I just like to appreciate the closet-sci-fi-ness of some girls in Phi Rho. I try not to be too loud about my geek cred (except Indy and drum corps, duh), but sometimes I find myself doing geekily embarassing things despite it. Like yesterday I texted my sister because I know she loves Dali's elephants, and I saw a tattoo (here) of a Dali-styled AT-AT. So I appreciate it on a nerd level, and she and I both appreciate it on a fine art level. But it also reminds me of when we drove down to OBX last summer and Uncle Steve pointed at these utility frameworks (some shipping docks, or something, maybe?) in the distance, and he said they looked like those things from Star Wars, and I knew what he meant and said AT-ATs, and he was just like... yeah... sure, whatever. But then again, he is rather one of the more condescending people in our family and we, as a family, have a very strong we-will-mock-you-mercilessly dynamic. So.
ANYWAY, my point was, one, that I love my little, but furthermore she started geeking out about Weta Workshops and I didn't realize they did all of LotR, which I totally respect them for, and now I'm wondering how Sarah and Kimmie and I can start our own set/prop/costume company, because that is what we all want to do. I love my little so much! :D We are going to have a nerd-movie night (Dork Night?) and probably watch Star Wars and something else, maybe Firefly, I dunno, and make puppy chow. Yum.
Also, I want to take her to see Star Trek when it comes out because I doubt I could convince anyone else to go with me. LOL.

DCT can heal the soul
Mar. 10th, 2009 10:28 pmI'm having a good week, all things considered. Other than totally bombing my 5 minute speech last night due to nerves, my ethics test got pushed back to Monday and my Shakespeare paper, which I thought was due Thursday is actually due in a few weeks. So... yay. Breathing time.
Speaking of breathing time, camp went really really well. I am so excited for this summer.
Anyone watch Big Bang Theory last night? So I may have told this story before, but my mom and I like to poke fun at each other by calling each other Sheldon. for example, my mom was teasing me that when we went to a gigantic art show, I suggested we just go row by row so we don't get as lost as we do every year. (It's a lot to take in in just a few hours.) And I was mocking her for being anal about how I put her books away on the shelf because when she was in gradeschool in California, she worked at the library, and I guess libraries like to have it such that all the spines line up towards the front of the shelf, whereas my personal library is pretty disorganized and forget empty space, I try to fit on there as many books as I freaking can.
Anyway, so last night when BBT was on, my mom texted me and told me I needed Sheldon's tagging system because then I could find the jacket I lost. (My corps jacket for SW. I'm really upset about that.) Which, technically you can't, because rfid tags can't tell you location, only a sort of "yes" or "no" if it's there or not, but I had to remind her that that is the exact system I have been planning for several years to keep track of my future library. :D
So yeah, I'm kind of a Sheldon.
UGH, you fucking know what? So that Indiana Jones game is finally coming out after being in development for a million years, and they said "late spring 2009", but YOU KNOW WHAT, IT COMES OUT THE DAY I LEAVE FOR EVERYDAYS. fml. Soooo I'm gonna have to try to get an early copy or just get it and... ugh, let it sit all summer... That's bullllshiiiiit. I definitely won't have time to play it in the fall...
So even though my last pair of "good jeans" (aka the comfy, well-fitted ones I live in every day) decided to die and my new pair needed to be hemmed, I forgot I had a pair hiding in the back of my drawer with side cargo pockets (no hammer pocket/loop unfortunately) and SUPER deep top pockets (holy shit I can fit my whole hand in them) and I am a happy camper because today was warm despite it looking like it was going to rain and me being way tired and losing m corps jackets and YAY I HAVE CARGO PANTS AGAIN. Shupa shweet.
I really love homestar runner. Haven't sat down and watched a whole bunch in a long time, but they had a new toon out recently with Strong Bad saying "T minus heck outta Dodge". Excellent. Added to book of quotes. *check*
Okay firefox is acting up and being very slow sooo I'm going to post this and come back with links later.

A strange 24 hours
Nov. 19th, 2005 12:29 amWithin 24 hours in the last day:
I learned you should not eat the gelling powder inside a diaper, or you will have some serious systemic blockage.
My math class had a "draw"-ing contest with our calculators. As in, calculators in bookbag, hands on desk, GO! Unzip backpack, flip open calculator, see who's got the fastest hand in the... east.
Domer's quote, taken completely out of context and abused for the rest of the night in every possible discussion--an awesome quote: "I was banging the queerness out of it/you!"
Ah, context, how lovely it is to displace you. =^n.n^=
I hope we play Capella next week... and haha Springboro!

Updatin' Time
Sep. 3rd, 2005 01:06 amHaven't updated in a while. We lost the CJ game Thursday, just like I predicted. Last night (although still right now...) we went to Friendly's after our 4+hour practice. Then we went bowling. Kylicia (minus Kyle for the bowling), me, Mrs. Minge, Domer, and Fisher. Domer did a sprinkle shot. Fun times. Endless jokes. The quote of the day:
Me: No, you're the bandit.
Peter Certo: I'm the bandit?
Me: You're the bandit.
Peter: I am the bandit.
Me: Coo coo cachoo.
It was good times. In other random news, I have (at least, with a sore throat) a 2 octave singing range and my dad bought Blue Juice for my valves which is going to kill them. Northmont later today (after I go to sleep). Yes... cherry blow pops and the water bottle game... also finding the hirhgt of the stands because we know the time and gravity. w00t the nerds. =D
Also, Lara and I totally owned at our Don Quixote/ Sancho de La Mancha vocab skit. w00t.
Me: No, you're the bandit.
